I frowned in thought. "Let me guess," I said, "you're honoring the passing of Don LaFontaine, whose voice we all loved so?"
"No," he said, "actually it's just one of those things. I'm sorry about Don's passing, though."
Then we had an awkward silence for a moment or two.
"Anyway," he said, "the building's still on fire, so we should probably be on our way, then."
Nicest fireman ever!
