Jimmy has seen some crazy things.
Mar. 5th, 2008 10:43 pm"Believe me, when you've been a paramedic as long as I have, you see some crazy things," Jimmy said.
"How long have you been a paramedic?" I asked politely.
"Three hundred and fifty billion years," he replied.
"But! But!" I stammered, "The history of medicine doesn't -- I mean, the human race is only -- actually, the Big Bang wasn't --"
"I know, I know," he said wearily, "The Big Bang was only less than ten billion years ago. I know more than anyone that it's been a long time. And I haven't taken a single day off, not even weekends. Let me tell you, my feet are killing me. Believe me, it's no picnic."
I believe you, Jimmy. Drinks are on me tonight, man.
