Jan. 13th, 2008 05:30 pmI heard on some of the mailing list that the giant turtle would be swimming out near California, so I grabbed my surfboard and paddled out to meet it (before I had time to post about this -- sorry folks!)
It was a lot smaller than I'd expected. There were only about twenty houses on its back, plus a coffee shop. (Starbuck's is going to open up a store next to it soon.) I was hoping I could join them, but every room's already rented and there's a waiting list. I hung out at the coffee shop for a while with the locals, swapping California gossip for Giant Turtle gossip, and then surfed on home.
When I got back to shore, I found out that all the people in the world have been replaced by turtles and tortoises! What happened?
