"Sure," I replied, "a little company like that, you don't have room to specialize. You do whatever's needed."
"No, no," he corrected me, frustrated, "I actually am a specialist. My job is just to keep wearing different hats. That's it. It's a twelve-person company, everyone else is an engineer, we don't even have a receptionist, and somehow I got hired as a hat model. It's infuriating. Why are they paying for a hat-wearer? The money's good, but why?"
