"Wow!" I said. It's funny how old high school friends can go in very different directions in life.
"I guess, but my bosses all got arrested and I had to skip town and come back to the 'States. These days I'm a bothunter, tracking down and disabling rogue killer drones."
"Sounds dangerous and exciting!" I said.
"Yeah," she sighed, "but it's really mostly drudgework. It was exciting the first few years, I guess. Now, I don't know. I'd like to get into a better business, but I don't really have any skills that are applicable to anything but diamond theft, assassination or bothunting. Maybe I'll start over in retail or something. I'm sick of freelancing."
