Where do you go to high school?
Jan. 22nd, 2005 11:12 am"Where do you go to high school?" I asked the teenager who was running the counter at the tiny store on a lonely stretch of long barren highway. He must have had to drive fifty miles to get to work every day.
He looked at me, surprised for a moment. It's a little impolite to get personal during a fast business transaction. High school teenager, if you're out there, I'm sorry for that.
Then there was an explosion outside. My car had burst open, and millions of locusts and butterflies flew out from the shattered hull. Was it the awesome pressure of the emerging insects that had shattered my car?
Anyway, that's my hitch-hiking story. What's yours?
