Two More Posts Until A Robot Villanelle!
Dec. 4th, 2003 05:31 pmI hate online auctions so much that, whenever I feel guilty or miserable, I go there immediately.
I went online, and saw an auction for "A Thing That Will Make Mike Snard, of Ithaca, New York, Completely Happy And Fulfilled, But Wouldn't Help Anyone Else In Any Way"
Mike Snard was the only person who bid on it. I figured, if Mike Snard liked it so much, it must be pretty good! I didn't know what it was, but I bid on it. I kept bidding until the money got pretty serious.
Then Mike Snard e-mailed me, asking what I was doing. I explained that if it made Mike Snard happy, it must have some serious economic value, so I figured I'd buy it. You know, because I was sure it would be nice.
Mike Snard said that the thing was useless to anyone else. I said we'd just have to wait and see, since I was still bidding on it. I was really starting to look forward to getting that thing.
Mike Snard mailed me, saying that it was rude of me to rob him of his one chance at true happiness, just on a whim.
( Is it rude? You decide! )
