I saw a modern interpretation of Romeo & Juliet this weekend.

As soon as they figure out the whole family-love-versus-romantic-love conflict, the star-crossed lovers renounce their families without a moment's thought. Then, they raid the Apothecary, grabbing all the useful (or entertaining) drugs. They poison Tybalt and take his sword, and burn down the Duke's house, barely leaving town in time. Then they spend the rest of the play working as an elite team of super-mercenaries for witch-hounded Scottish kings, troubled Danish princes, and the like. At the end of it, they get a mecha.
